Voice Services Engineer

We are committed to building on our growing success by meeting and exceeding customer’s expectations through continued investment in facilities, infrastructure and most importantly our team. As part of this structured growth we have a vacancy for a Voice Services Engineer based in Derby.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Node4 provide several communications platforms to our resellers and customers, both as hosted and on-site solutions.  These include products from manufacturers such as Cisco, NEC, Polycom and Genband.  These products are installed and maintained by our Voice Services team.

We are looking for a new member of the team who comes from a telephony background, with experience of on-site installation of telephony systems.  The role will require some knowledge of IP and networking, but additional training will be provided on this.

The ideal candidate would be a telecoms engineer who wants to move towards a more data-centric role.   Whilst there will be some on-site work required, the position will be based from our office in Derby (candidates who live close to our other sites in Wakefield or Northampton would also be considered).

The ideal candidate would be expected to demonstrate:

  • The ability to plan, implement and support NEC SV8100 and/or Cisco Unified Communications systems
  • A knowledge of IP/VoIP technologies and the willingness to expand on this knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills – face to face, written and on the phone
  • Enthusiastic approach to working life
  • Ability to work pro-actively and as part of a team
  • To be committed to delivering an excellent customer experience
  • Flexibility and willingness to get involved in projects that may not be part of the core role

Senior Network Engineer

As part of this structured growth we have a vacancy for a Senior Network Engineer based in Derby, Wakefield or Northampton.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven track recording of delivering & supporting Cisco and/or Juniper networking solutions through the full project lifecycle from pre-sales design through to project delivery and post-sales support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exposure of creating standard documentation including technical architecture and processes.
  • Exposure of directly supporting and managing customers, and an understanding of the impact of Customer Service on Customer Satisfaction
  • Very high level of technical ability with a solid grounding in Cisco and/or Juniper products with strong skills in one or more of the following areas: Service Provider networks, security.
  • Effective time management even under pressure and prioritisation of workloads is essential.
  • Working use of SNMP monitoring systems.
  • Extensive working knowledge of various networking technologies and protocols including Routing, Switching, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Wireless, Load balancers, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IPv6.
  • A Service Provider background would be advantageous
  • Have a can do attitude, be able to pick up and learn new technologies in a fast moving dynamically changing environment.

Qualifications/Certifications needed (or equivalent practical exposure)

  • Cisco CCNP or Cisco CCIP or Juniper JNCIS

Key tasks & Responsibilities:

Working within the network team you will:

  • Support the data centre network infrastructures and MPLS WAN
  • Provide pre-sale support & consultancy
  • Design & develop customer solutions & service offerings
  • Deliver & support customer solutions
  • Mentor & support technical support engineers
  • Provide technical support to the voice & application teams
  • Develop good working relationships with the sales team and other departments
  • Participate in the on call rota

You will be required to attend customer sites and visit remote sites; therefore a full UK driving license is essential.

Although not essential, the ability to support or knowledge of Microsoft Applications, Hypervisors (VMware/Hyper-V), Linux, and/or voice technologies would be advantageous.

Senior Applications Engineer

As part of this structured growth we have a vacancy for a Senior Applications Engineer based in Northampton.

Essential Skills:

  • Working exposure installing and supporting Microsoft Infrastructure technologies (e.g. SharePoint, Windows, SQL), including a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Exposure in managing and designing large-scale platforms or those with very high uptime expectations of 99.999
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exposure of creating standard documentation including technical architecture and processes.
  • Exposure of directly supporting and managing customers, and understands impact of Customer Service on Customer Satisfaction
  • Very high level of technical ability with a solid grounding in Microsoft principles and troubleshooting, ideally in Internet and related technologies and services.
  • Effective time management even under pressure and prioritisation of workloads is essential.
  • Working use of monitoring platforms and systems, ideally Microsoft Systems Centre products – Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, Virtual Machine Manager.
  • Extensive working knowledge of various virtualisation technologies including VMware, Hyper V and Citrix
  • Solid working understanding of clustering technologies
  • An understanding of working across multi-site environments
  • Have a can do attitude, be able to pick up and learn new technologies in a fast moving dynamically changing environment.

Qualifications/Certifications needed (or equivalent practical exposure)

  • MCITP: Enterprise Administrator, MCITP: Server Administrator or equivalent exposure
  • Microsoft product specialism, for example MCTS in SharePoint or Exchange (desirable)
  • VMware certified professional or MCITP virtualisation administrator qualification would be advantageous

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced marketing communications professional to harness their creative flair with a multi award-winning organisation.

Working from our state-of-the-art data centre facility, as a PR & Communications Executive, you will be responsible for distributing our  message across all channels. You will produce case studies, press releases, blogs and social media content in addition to developing a strong relationship with industry and trade journalists to incorporate national and regional press.

Your duties will include:

- Working with management to provide content for multimedia channels

- Communicating with internal stakeholders regarding development and execution of campaigns and activities

Internal Customer Account Manager (Sales)

Launched in 2004, our company has grown rapidly through our comprehensive service offering and demand for hosted IT from businesses all over the UK. Our competencies include colocation, managed hosting through dedicated servers and virtualised environments, connectivity, SIP trunking and hosted telephony.

As a growing business we now have a large customer base and want to ensure that we maintain and develop the customers we have.  The Internal Customer Account Manager (ICAM) will manage a set of house accounts and through regular contact (via phone, email and other marketing communications) will ensure that the customer is delighted with the service as well as looking to uncover potential new opportunities to provide services from our diverse product portfolio.  The ICAM will be the main point of contact for these customers and will handle all enquiries, taking responsibility to ensure that they are dealt with in the best possible way.

In addition the role will also provide support to Sales Management in support of some other key accounts.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a dynamic fast moving business, enjoys dealing with customers, is a great communicator and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service.

The role is full-time based from either our Derby or Northampton sites.  There will be a basic salary of up to £20k per annum plus a quarterly bonus giving an annual OTE of upto £25k.  The bonus will be paid against a defined set of Key Performance Indicators around levels of service and our other core values.
