Network Project Engineer

Job Description

We are expanding our Network Team, and are looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer.

The successful candidate will be required to manage customer projects from low level design through implementation and testing.

Working as part of a Project Team you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects which would include LAN, WAN, WLAN and security products. Working with engineers from other technical teams and project managers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Full project delivery – liaising with pre-sales, attending project kick off meetings (internal & customer), low level designs/diagrams/documentation, change controls, equipment configuration, installation & testing, customer handover, service handover.
  • Provisioning services and provide network related professional services.
  • Ownership and technical management of projects.
  • Attend customer meetings and attend customer sites to perform installations & troubleshooting.
  • Work with other teams to provide support and deliver services.
  • Work with Project Managers to build project plans.
  • Ensuring customer networks are monitored appropriately.
  • Ensure consistency in delivering exceptional service as a standard.
  • Mentoring and training of network support and project engineers.

Some Essential Skills

  • 3rd Line support and configuration of Cisco and/or Juniper or LANs, WANs and Wireless networks
  • 3rd Line support and configuration of Cisco and/or Fortinet firewall and UTM appliances
  • Competency in the design of network solutions
  • Competency in the support and configuration of Cisco and/or Juniper networks
  • Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIS/JNCIP, Fortinet NSE4 certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience of Service provider networks – MPLS & IP transit
  • Experience with SDN – Cisco Nexus products, Cisco AC
  • Experience with DSL Networks – LNS/BRAS
  • Experience with Network Monitoring Systems (PRTG, Observium, ScienceLogic)
  • Experience with Linux server administration, Linux scripting (python, PHP, Ansible)
