Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

This is the ideal role for an experienced infrastructure professional looking to join a dynamic team within a rapidly growing, award-winning and highly accredited company. You will need to have in-depth technical knowledge of NetApp compute and storage, VMware vSphere, vCloud Director and Cisco UCS compute.

As we expand into new markets and introduce new solutions into our product range, we want to expand our Cloud Infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing code for internal and external projects, following company guidelines
  • Ensuring the operational uptime of the Node4 Cloud Services
  • Designing, installing, configuring and managing the new dedicated cloud infrastructures within the Node4 data centres
  • Providing escalated operational support for systems within the cloud architecture. Owning incidents through to resolution and providing root cause analysis
  • Liaising with both customers and internal stakeholders, acting as lead point of contact when delivering technical aspects of projects and ensuring continuity of services and customer satisfaction regarding the cloud storage platform
  • Leveraging the automation framework to improve processes, automate deployment and improve manageability
  • Approaching problems in an analytical and logical way with exceptional troubleshooting skills
  • Working with an ITIL based approach to incident, problem and change management

  • Strong understanding of storage technologies, in particular NetApp FAS, E-Series, and SolidFire
  • At least a working knowledge of VMware vCloud Director
  • Minimum of five years’ experience configuring and managing virtualised and cloud infrastructures

Desirable Skills

Experience in any of the following technologies would also be advantageous:

  • NCIE certification in Clustered Data ONTAP
  • Cisco UCS
  • vCloud Director
  • VMware NSX
  • Veeam
  • Zerto
  • Microsoft Technologies
  • Powershell/Python scripting
