Senior Network Support Engineer

Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Senior Network Support Engineer who will be responsible for providing support to Node4 customers.

With our own UK data centres and national MPLS network, our portfolio includes colocation, cloud, connectivity and unified communication solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support LAN, WAN, WLAN and security solutions delivered over Node4’s network infrastructure
  • Act as an escalation point for network support engineers
  • Own and manage complex support tickets for key customers
  • Configure and use network management tools to support customer networks
  • Define and implement complex change controls
  • Provide network-related professional services
  • Deputise for Support Team Leader when required
  • Work with other teams (Service Desk, Unified Communications, OpenSource, Cloud & Applications) to provide support and deliver services
  • Build knowledge bases
  • Mentor and train support engineers
  • Complete network related documentation

Essential Skills

  • 2nd/3rd Line support and configuration of Cisco and/or Juniper or LANs, WANs and Wireless networks
  • 2nd/3rd Line support and configuration of Cisco and/or Fortinet firewall and UTM security appliances
  • Competency in the support and configuration of Cisco and/or Juniper networks
  • Cisco CCNP or Juniper JNCIS/JNCIP certification or equivalent experience
