Deloitte’s fastest growing technology company in the Midlands region extends its’ remit to Northampton next month following the success of its’ third data centre in Wakefield. The company featured highly in the Times Tech Track 100 having experienced significant sales growth of 57% a year from £1.9m in 2007 to £7.3m in 2010.

Managing Director, Andrew Gilbert, at 30 years now heads up an organisation that has a turnover of £11 million in the space of only six years. The company has chosen Northampton as a strategic location for expansion primarily for its excellent transport, infrastructure and proximity to the South East logistically being located directly in the heart of the UK.
Gilbert has major plans and ambitions for the fourth addition to his data centre empire; helping to build the nation’s IT economy by making the county’s businesses in both the public and private sector grow by making the most out of their IT investments. The state-of-the-art Northampton data centre opens this month. The facility is set to boost employment in the area and place Northampton on the map as a hub for innovation in IT.

The data centre itself is set to be a welcome addition to the community, generating new jobs for local people and providing a safe location for the mission-critical data of local companies. As a financial services hub, Northampton financial services companies can expect to be one of the key beneficiaries of the new site which offers the highest standards of security and guarantees highly sophisticated disaster recovery facilities, even in the event of unforeseen disasters.

Paul Bryce, speaking recently at the Northampton Economic Forum round table debate said,
“The new centre is designed to meet the needs of SME’s and corporate who are trying to keep to strict budgets for managing and implementing IT. The data centre will be around twice the size of our Wakefield site at approximately 41,000 sq ft making it our biggest facility to date with an impressive planned capacity of 720 racks. The Northampton centre will increase the company footprint further south and will be especially valuable to SME’s in the region who often want to ‘touch and feel’ the experience and who are keen to come and view the physical facility which will be housing their most valuable asset; their data. The Northampton site will boast high specifications by combining the latest in power, fire control, security, cooling and humidification technologies.”

Node4 aims to work with both large corporations and SME’s to help companies in the area maximise their efficiencies, productivity and reduce IT running costs.
